Patricia Weijers has been happily living in Diemen-Zuid for almost 25 years. When she was still working, she commuted daily between Diemen and Amsterdam West, where she worked full-time for many years as a spokesperson and communications advisor, gaining extensive experience in politics and community projects.

After her retirement, she thought it would be fun to look at things from the other side, namely the political side. That is why she chose Onafhankelijk Diemen, a local party that focuses on issues that directly concern the residents of Diemen. By visiting each neighborhood, Onafhankelijk Diemen tries to identify the problems and ideas in each neighborhood, find solutions, develop ideas, and get in touch with residents. This practical approach appeals to Patricia because it allows you to make a difference for residents right away. However, she has noticed that there is still much room for improvement in terms of communication between the municipality and its residents. In short, she believes there is still a lot of work to be done!
