Sustainability?

Everyone wants a cleaner Diemen<\/em>. Less gas, more greenery, and fresh air<\/strong> for our children. But many residents are wondering: who will pay for all this?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Because sustainability is all well and good<\/strong>, until you see the bill<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n

What we see in Diemen is that the plans are often already set in stone.<\/em> District heating networks, wind turbines, solar fields<\/strong>. And then residents are allowed to \u201chave their say.\u201d It’s like you’re only allowed to choose once the train is already moving. Meanwhile, residents receive letters about modifications to their homes, higher energy costs, or maintenance that suddenly stops<\/strong>. Like the first residents of Plantage De Sniep,<\/strong> who were the first to switch from gas in 2010. Suddenly, they were left out in the cold by their supplier. Literally.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Independent Diemen says: this has to change.<\/strong> We are in favor of sustainability,<\/strong> but only in collaboration with residents.<\/strong> No one should be disadvantaged because they live in an old house<\/strong> or don’t have the money<\/strong> for a heat pump. Not over their heads.<\/strong><\/p>\n

And above all: <\/em>affordable for everyone.<\/p>\n
